FED:PM flies away from distractions

Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD has put some distance between herself and two former Labor
leaders as she takes her campaign to marginal territory in Darwin today.

If yesterday in Brisbane wasn't hard enough .. facing the cameras with KEVIN RUDD for
the first time since she replaced him as PM .. Ms GILLARD was later confronted by another
ex-Labor leader MARK LATHAM .. in his role as guest reporter for Nine's 60 Minutes program.

Nine boss DAVID GYNGELL has since apologised for Mr LATHAM's conduct.

In Darwin .. Ms GILLARD is tipped to announce funding for more school chaplains ..

a HOWARD government initiative .. two days after she met the Australian Christian Lobby.

Mr ABBOTT will seek to regain the election limelight at the Liberals' official campaign
launch in Brisbane later this morning .. focusing on the asylum seeker issue and jail
terms for people smugglers .. of up to 10 years for repeat offenders.
